Here’s a blog that will help your kid enhance their stamina, speed, and power on the field that eventually allows them to take part in a battle national championship.

Unfortunately, not everything you do training-wise will improve your fitness as per the match demands. You must work on your stamina if you aspire to join football in Nextgen all America camp. To participate in the national level championship, the player must follow a proper football fitness training regime.

Here are a few draining drills that will improve your football match.

MAXIMIZE SPRINTING SPEED

Wingers were the ones whose sprinting speed matters initially, but now every player in all positions needs to have good sprinting speed.

Capitalizing on your potential speed to take a fast run for shorter bursts will stand your head and shoulders above the rest. Try the drill using sled pulls and parachute sprints, which will help strengthen your body and push your legs beyond their actual capability.

The Drill

Go for five rounds of 50ml sled pull or bungee cords, with 30 seconds rest in-between.

IMPROVE YOUR CHANGE OF DIRECTION

Hundreds of youth fight to get their spot finalized in a national-level football game, but not everyone is lucky. The best of best will get the chance to represent nationally. Football academies will do their best to train, but it is up to your dedication and will to grab the national level position. Hence, the need for you to improve on your every skill is required.

That said, every footballer needs to work on their change of direction technique while handling the ball. They should be able to change their direction at any second, that too quickly and without causing any injury and keeping the ball under control.

Traditional cone training helps players to improve their agility, including shuttle runs and slalom runs. Try it with a ball as the real game-changer is when a player runs and turns the ball at full tilt, all this by still keeping the ball under control.

THE DRILL

Place 10–20 cones in a zigzagging formation, slowly slalom run through these cones. Do it again and increase your speed each time. Your foot should push the ball throughout this drill.

IMPROVE RUNNING

Find an open field for running. Interval training, however, is not a conventional stamina builder; most professional football players are doing to improve their VO2Max, hitting maximum sprinting at high tempo before jogging, allowing them to build the stamina.

The Drill

Perform 4-minute jogging, and 4-minute tempo repeatedly run at 4times. Now try mixing footwork around cones with your sprinting.

Indeed, there is no better substitute for match fitness than playing on the field with professional training. However, to compete with national-level players, players must go for these training drills to enhance their existing football fitness. All the exercises mentioned here are simple and can improve the performance of any football match.
